HUS selects Innofactor as the developer of the Terveyskylä virtual hospital applications

Innofactor Plc Stock Exchange Release April 6, 2017, at 14:55 Finnish time

In a tendering process governed by a framework arrangement, the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS) has selected Innofactor as the developer of the Terveyskylä.fi applications. The deliveries will be implemented mainly by using Microsoft technologies in a Microsoft Azure cloud service environment. The agreement to be signed will be valid until further notice. HUS estimates the total purchase value during the contract period to be approximately 1.8 million Euros, which is contributed to 2017. The final value of the deal during the contract period cannot however be known at this point.

"The deal improves Innofactor's position as a leading digitalization provider for the customer-focused healthcare field. The deal also significantly strengthens Innofactor's position as a Microsoft Azure cloud service provider in Finland and, therefore, also as a provider of Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine Learning solutions to healthcare and other fields," says Innofactor's CEO Sami Ensio.

The HUS Terveyskylä project is an entire virtual hospital, whose portals offer anonymous users information about services and also information about specific subjects in the form of current news, stories, articles, self-care instructions, self-assessment queries, and gamified quizzes.

HUS is a Joint Authority formed by 24 municipalities. Its task is to offer member municipalities and their residents the necessary services for specialized medical care and care of the mentally disabled. The Helsinki University Central Hospital (HUCH), which operates as part of HUS, is also responsible for providing care for patients with rare illnesses or otherwise requiring specialized care in its responsibility area, which is larger than the hospital district, and in some cases, in the entire country. In addition to the Hospital District of Uusimaa, the responsibility area of HUCH includes the South Karelia Social and Health Care District (Eksote) and the Kymenlaakso Social and Health Services (Carea).

The decision will be legally valid after the appeal period defined in the Procurement Act has passed.
