Innofactor Plc Press release, April 8, 2026, at 9:00 Finnish time
Innofactor Solutions Oy has been selected as the supplier in a public procurement conducted by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd, concerning a Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) solution.
The objective of the procurement is to acquire a SaaS-based software solution for approximately 2,400 users that supports VTT's core business process of research projects and their management. The solution is also required to integrate with VTT's core IT solutions, including financial, ERP, CRM, HCM and document management systems.
The selected solution, Projectum xPM delivered by Innofactor, is a Danish project and portfolio management software designed to support the monitoring and governance of large-scale and complex project portfolios. Innofactor is the only partner in Europe to have been awarded Projectum xPM Gold Partner status and has accumulated extensive experience in delivering the solution, particularly to large industrial organizations.
"We are very grateful for the trust VTT has placed in us. This project further strengthens the long-standing cooperation we have had with VTT over the years. It also offers us an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how the Projectum xPM solution performs in a public-sector operating environment, whose project and portfolio management requirements we know very well already," says Jyrki Vepsäläinen, CEO of Innofactor Solutions Oy.
Projectum xPM is built on Microsoft Power Platform technology, enabling flexible development and seamless integrations across the Microsoft ecosystem in line with customer-specific requirements.
"The Power Platform enables flexible extensibility, configurability and continuous development of the solution in line with VTT's evolving project and portfolio management needs. It also creates excellent prerequisites for leveraging Microsoft Copilot capabilities as well as agentic AI to support project and portfolio management, for example in information retrieval, reporting and decision-making.
In the future the combination of Microsoft technology and xPM can also enable us to utilize, for example, deep learning to proactively identify projects with an increased risk of failure. This allows us to move from reactive project management towards proactive project leadership," says Juha‑Pekka Piuva, Head of xPM Business at Innofactor.
The total value of the procurement (excluding VAT) stated in the procurement decision is approximately EUR 1.64 million, and the contract period extends until fall 2027.
