Implementation and training
Innofactor strives to provide its customers with support that covers the entire software life cycle. Deployment planning, implementation and user training all help the customer get to full speed with the new software solution. After deployment, Innofactor’s customer support helps our customers with any problems or questions they may encounter. Taking a new software solution into use normally involves the following phases.
Deployment planning
Careful deployment planning and implementation are important parts of a successful IT project. Innofactor has developed its own model for deploying operative IT systems. The model includes a gradual deployment process at different organizational levels during which the personnel is familiarized with the system and detailed use patterns are defined.
Configuration
Configuration involves adapting the software terminology and structure to customer’s operations. In addition, the software features are set to support the customer’s activities as efficiently as possible.
Deliveries and installations
With any given project, Innofactor typically delivers and installs a separate solution environment for testing and training. The installation proceeds gradually and in several phases, if necessary. Installations can be performed on the customer’s own IT environment and/or Innofactor’s hosting services. Most Innofactor’s solutions are browser-based and do not require installations on individual workstations or laptops.
Getting to know the solution
Whenever possible, the customer can get to know and explore the solution before the actual delivery or acceptance testing.
Training
A training plan is drawn up in cooperation between the customer and Innofactor. Depending on the case, training can be organized as tailored customer-specific training or through standard Innofactor training courses.
Training for normal users usually takes 0.5–1 days. Administrator training takes 0.5–2 days. Training is not usually required for the normal use of the solution. Training can be supplemented with one-on-one sessions if necessary.
Content transfer or producing new content
The software system usually requires different types of customer-specific content. In most cases, the customer produces the material and Innofactor transfers the content.
In some cases, Innofactor may participate in content production. This could include, for example, photography, commenting on the customer’s content or transferring non-digital content into digital format.
Acceptance testing
The customer will perform an acceptance testing procedure according to instructions provided by Innofactor. Acceptance testing aims to ensure that the solution meets the agreed delivery terms.
Launching the service
Before launching a service, such as a new online service, the customer should ensure that all stakeholders have been sufficiently informed about the service. On request, the service can be initially launched to a smaller group, such as an internal test group, before it is made public.
