Supporting Airam’s Growth – Building a Digital Foundation Together with Innofactor

Airam is a Finnish lighting company with a history of more than 100 years. Throughout its history, the company has continued to evolve, and a few years ago it was time to take the next step.

The goal was not only to implement a new ERP system but also to build a modern digital platform that supports the entire business.

According to Airam's CEO, Kari Onniselkä, the project was launched to support the company's future growth.

"About two years ago, we started with the idea that if we want to scale our business, we need to make significant IT investments and move things forward," says Onniselkä.

Before making the final decision, Airam evaluated several options. Innofactor was selected as the partner thanks to its strong expertise, experienced project team, and collaborative way of working.

At the heart of the project was Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP. The solution also included the necessary integrations, analytics, and supporting AddOn solutions. At the same time, Airam modernized many of its business processes.

From Airam's perspective, the success of the project was built on close collaboration.

"Communication was easy, and we worked well together to find the right solutions. One of the key success factors in this project has been that the project managers from both companies have been true professionals," says Onniselkä.

Airam's Head of IT, Antti Marmo, also highlights Innofactor's ability to challenge existing ways of working in a constructive way.

"Innofactor has been very good at challenging us by showing that we don't always need to do things the same way as before. Instead, we have been able to find new ways of working," says Marmo.

Another valuable part of the collaboration has been finding the right solutions together, always keeping Airam's business needs first. Expert support and ready-made solutions have helped build a system that will continue to support Airam's business in the future.

"Whenever needed, Innofactor has solutions for different challenges. Most importantly, they don't start by trying to sell something. Instead, we can first work together to find the best solution," Marmo continues.

The benefits of the new system can already be seen in Airam's daily operations. Manual work has been reduced, processes have become more consistent, and the browser-based solution makes work easier for both users and the IT team. Most importantly, the new technology provides a solid foundation for continuous development.

"In the end, we got a modern solution that allows us to continue developing our processes," says Marmo.

According to Marmo, building the digital foundation was the project's greatest achievement.

"Getting our entire digital platform in place has been the biggest effort. Now we can start bringing AI and other tools into our daily work," he says.

At Airam, the collaboration with Innofactor is seen as a long-term partnership that will continue through future development projects. The experience of working together has been very positive.

"We have several exciting follow-up projects ahead, and we will continue moving forward together. Innofactor has been a great partner, and it has been a pleasure working together," Onniselkä concludes.
